IOC BABYYYY

(Audio Emailed to Mrs. G)

Grading:
A: Knowledge and Understanding of Text: 4- This was because I thought I had adequate knowledge of the text, but I had little to no reference to the actual book.
B: Understanding of the Use and Effects of Literary Features: 5-I mentioned metaphor, characterization, and imagery and the effect on the narrator, but not on the reader.
C: Organization: 2- The organization was a little sloppy and I jumped around a lot.
D: Language: 3- I had decent grammar, although I had to correct myself a few times. I said "um" and paused more than I should have.

  1. I really liked being able to see your planning for the IOC. I think your end result is very strong, which in turn would make your commentary strong. One suggestion would be to put the author of the book and the time it was written in the end result, to give more context to where it came from. I know I couldn't actually hear the commentary but, I bet it was awesome. (:

  2. Great job planning! I really liked how you underlined and wrote notes on the paper. You kept your thoughts organized and pinpointed what you really wanted to talk about! Your end result was great and does a great job of summing up your point. To help with your pauses and um's maybe you could try listing out the order of the topics that you wish to discuss and make little summaries of what you want to say. Not full sentences but maybe little notes of ideas!

  3. You outilined your paper fairly well which is a great first step to any solid IOC. I attempted to just read my article and wing my IOC and soon realized it wasn't that easy and had to restart and annotate ahead of time. Your extra notes in the side are also a great way to kep track of your thoughts but you didn't script it out which is good because sometimes when I script out what im saying i end up running out of points to make fairly fast. I obviously don't know for sure how accurate your grading is because I cant hear your IOC but from the looks of it you definitely don't give yourself a higher grade than you deserve. Good Job!
